Carnival Week

St Teath Carnival held last weekend was lucky enough to avoid the showers and the sun came out for the procession. The variety of entries was a credit to the Carnival following a growing Carnival week. As well as our usual Bingo and Quiz night, We had live Music in the White Hart, a Punch and Judy show on the village green, and the Football Club brought back "Fun Night" which we hope to build on next year.

Water, flour ...
... and wheelbarrows at the fun night

We added the "jumping out" Jazz Band this year who contributed to the mix of musicians and kept everybody entertained while playing on the church steps before and after prize giving. Once again the Pikna Shire Horses led the procession and stayed in the Square for us all to admire. We were very pleased to have entries from neighbouring villages showing their support and talent.

We would like to say a big Thankyou to everybody who helped us, and also to everybody who gave generously to our collection enabling us to donate £400 to the Port Isaac RNLI in memory of Pete Sleeman.

Christmas Children's Party with the Party People

23 December 2011

Over forty children of all ages were entertained at a Christmas Party organised by the Village Carnival Committee. They were entertained by the antics and silly billy behaviour of Timbo the magician who also managed to wow them with some "amazing" magic.

During the evening there was a visit from Funny Bunny who is the naughtiest rabbit the children had ever seen and of course Father Christmas who had found time in his busy schedule to visit St Teath. All the children got to meet him and received a present, even though it was before Christmas!

After meeting the children, Father Christmas said to Nicky and Tracy the organisers that the children had all been so well behaved that he would be back on Christmas Day. Everybody including the mums and dads enjoyed themselves at this smashing start to the holiday.

The Carnival Committee would like to thank all those who helped put this event on and in particular Tim and Di who gave their services free.

Ghosts and Horror at St Teath Party

Saturday 29 October 2011

Over 80 spectacularly dressed children and their not so well dressed parents crowded into the village hall to celebrate Halloween in the company of The Party People, Timbo the magician and his good friend Funny Bunny.

This was the second party in the village this year especially designed for children and they certainly enjoyed themselves, dancing the night away, apple bobbing and parading around in their super fancy dress. Supported by parents who entered in to the spirit of the evening by donning horns, make up and capes, the evening was a huge success.

Organisers Nicky and Tracy would like to thank all those who attended and helped raise funds for next year's carnival.
